Abhiyan commences every year on 14th January on the eve of Makar Sankranti and concudeson Ganga-Dushahara day.In between samples of waters are collected and tested in the environmental laboratory of Yugantar Bharati at Sidaraul, Namkom, Ranchi. During the campaign period workshops, seminars, public meetings, debates, competitions etc. are organised to highlight the importance of water and necessity of its conservation and augmentation. This abhiyan has now been adopted by the Yugantar Bharati as its annual activities. In this programme Subernarekha Mahotsav on the eve of Makar Sankranti and Damodar Mahotsav on the eve of Ganga Dushahara are organised at more than a dozen places simultaneously in which thousands of people participate and vow to protect the water quality and quantity.
